At THE 2025 Trailblazers event, "The Stories That Connect Us," Search celebrated its ongoing journey of empowering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Founded in 1968 by a group of parents in Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighborhood, Search began as a grassroots movement fighting for inclusion in public schools. That spirit of advocacy and community integration continues to drive us today.

Now supporting over 350 adults, Search provides innovative programs that empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their full potential, accept a valued role in their community and lead rich, rewarding lives.
